Blue Jays 1, A’s 0

April 20th, 2009

Well here we go again – another great pitching performance wasted by a lack of offense. Dallas Braden is going to win most games when he gives up one earned run in 7 1/3 innings. Well, as long as he’s not pitching for the Oakland Athletics.

I mean really – is there something about being an Oakland A that makes offensive ability disappear? Is it the white cleats? Is it Stomper?

Or maybe it’s just good, left-handed pitching, like Toronto’s Ricky Romero. Dude really did pitch a good game, and I have to wonder if maybe it was more because of that than the A’s just stinking up the place.

Unfortunately we’ve got two more lefties to follow – Andy Pettitte tonight and C.C. Sabathia on Tuesday. But maybe the new Yankee Stadium is what the A’s need to get the bats going.

Go A’s!!

I think the A’s will have *a lot* of difficulty with good leftys. But overall, I think the A’s offense was overrated coming into this season.
