No Surprise

Well the A’s got swept at home by the Yankees, and I can’t say I’m surprised.
I mean, we all saw how horrible this team was on that stretch through San Francisco, Chicago, and St. Louis, and then at home versus the NL-Central-leading Reds. Sure, they went on a 7-2 run against the doormats of baseball [...]

What an ugly weekend. I mean, the weather looked nice and it seemed like a beautiful weekend to spend in the Bay Area. But it was indeed an ugly weekend for the A’s.

Our Fifth Starters

During Spring Training, Trevor Cahill and Gio Gonzalez were in a battle for the A’s fifth starter spot.
Now that Justin Duchscherer is out for the season, Cahill has settled nicely into his spot at number four and now these two guys are pitching back-to-back.
Cahill pitched Thursday against the Angels and went a career-high eight innings. [...]

A Giant Sweep

The A’s are such a roller coaster of a team.
Ten days ago they were just getting started on a five-game losing streak in which they scored only five runs. It was maddening; it was pathetic. Then the Mariners came to town and they kicked them around to the tune of 14 runs over two games. [...]

Shut Down Again

Well I guess when the A’s aren’t playing the Mariners, they still can’t score many runs.
They scratched across one run off Justin Verlander, which wasn’t nearly enough to get Dallas Braden a win. Braden’s 2 earned runs in six innings ended up getting him a loss.
